06f06. Rare North Carolina surcharged M1816 Flintlock musket ! Original flint and brown as they come, fresh attic find from a home in eastern Tennessee and totally pure. Very clear N. Carolina stamping on the barrel near the breech. Musket was manufactured by Pomeroy in 1826 and both lock and barrel exhibit matching production dates. Part of a contract to supply arms to the states implemented following the War of 1812, and virtually all of these weapons also saw service in the Confederacy during the Civil War. This particular weapon was probably abandoned when a more modern rifled musket was acquired. This old gem has some age wear and stress cracks but the only things missing are the sling swivels—even the ramrod is original! $3,850.00
