05cm107. RARE Confederate Cook and Brother sword bayonet ! Hardin #72. One of the most rare of all known examples and manufactured either in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1861-62 for the State of Alabama or in Athens, Georgia 1862-1865 under direct Confederate Government contract for use with the rifle they also produced for the Confederacy. This Type I variety is known to have varying blade lengths from 21 to 23 inches. Condition is totally untouched and this item is fresh from a private home in Texas—the family history is long gone, however. The blade is covered with a deep brown patina and has scattered areas of moderate to light oxidation. Likewise, the hilt is covered with 100% natural and uncleaned age patina. $3,250.00
