05s37. Civil War M1850 Infantry Officer sword by Folsom, St. Louis, Missouri! The classic standard arm of field lieutenants and captains of line. Full grip covering and original wire wrap. Scabbard is broken in two places but all mounts and leather is still there. Blade etching is light but visible and the maker mark is crisply struck. This piece also has the rare full etched maker mark of Snitzler and Kirschbaum, Solingen, opposite the Henry Folsom marking. Folsom supplied swords, accoutrements and uniforms in St. Louis primarily to US troops. Relatively uncommon vendor for this pattern of sword. $925.00
