06s15. RARE Civil War eagle quillion Navy Officer sword !  French made sword with fouled anchor motif in floral spray guard as imported by both North and South in the early War years through about 1864.  I have only seen one similar example, and it is inscribed as presented to a Confederate officer in Paris, 1864, who served on Gen. Magruder’s staff.  Blade is bright and free of edge nicks and retains its full point.  Grip is incised horn and devoid of wire—and appears to never have had any.  A very handsome edged weapon.  $1,750.00
